It's one of those soundtracks that hits you with its first line, as Arijit Singh sings, "Mohabbat mein yoon hadd ko paar kiya, tumse bhi zyaada tumse pyaar kiya, dard ki haddon ko bhi paar kiya, tumse bhi zyaada tumse pyaar kiya." Composed by Pritam, the writing has been credited to Irshad Kamil and Ashish Pandit. The song has a melody that sticks.

Though Pritam has had many allegations of plagiarism in the past, there have some glorious soundtracks from him, Jab We Met, Barfi and Kalank being three examples. His songs in Milan Luthria's Tadap are impressive too, specially where he uses modern arrangements.

Check out 'Tere Siva Jag Mein', which has a techno club backdrop that is persistent and infectious. Shilpa Rao is joined by Darshan Rawal, who sings, "Tu na mile mujhko toh jeena hai bekaar, tere bina khaali hai khwabon ka bazaar" with a rap stretch taking over. Perfect party music.

Rapping is also prominent 'Hoye Ishq Na', which is a complete contrast to the song's Sufi flavour. The male version is sung by B Praak and Akashdeep Sengupta, with Neha Kakkar singing the female version, titled 'Ae Dilla Marzaananiya'.

'Tu Mera Hogaya Hai', sung by Jubin Nautiyal and penned by Irshad Kamil, is a melodic song with the lines "Pehle se zyaada sheesha main dekhoon, pehle se zyaada hasta rahoon, main jab akela hota hoon tab bhi, tumse hi baatein karta rahoon". Though it's a regular song, one may be tempted to hum along.

The album concludes with a reprise of 'Tere Siva Jag Mein', sung by Asees Kaur and Mohammed Irfan. While Pritam is consistent in the music, this one and 'Tumse Bhi Zyaada' stand out. He's had a release after a year, and this is a welcome set.
